Sending your logs to a centralized location like Logentries creates the opportunity for different teams to access valuable log data without granting everyone access to your production environments. While this exposure of more teams (both technical and non-technical) to log data promotes collaboration across your organization, it can also leave you potentially vulnerable to the possibility of team members accidentally changing or deleting settings that could disrupt your log management processes. For this reason, Logentries is happy to announce the introduction of User Access Controls.
User Access Controls makes it easy to add team members to your Logentries account with read-only access. With User Access Controls, admins can segment account users by teams, specifying which teams are granted unrestricted access. Only unrestricted teams are able to perform admin-level actions, including:
- Deleting logs & log sets
- Editing DataHub rules
- Editing teams
- Deleting users
- Inviting users to your account
User Access Controls are now available on Logentries Team and Enterprise plans. Creating teams and setting Access Controls can be done from Accounts > Users > Teams.
